But then the telephone cable that connects the Fritz Box to the phone socket to bring in the phone calls went faulty, the box interpreted that as incoming calls which of course had no caller id as they were not really calls, I replaced that cable and lo and behold no more barrage of anonymous calls. Just an unfortunate sequence of events oh well. I tracked down what was happening with our phone line, the original problem was some calls from a foreign call center.
